Flowing Streams

Prayer is a matter of recourse. It’s a natural happening that comes forth when we open our mouths to speak. Out of the heart flows a river of life, praise, blessings, healing or intercession. In response to the heart the mouth opens to declare the thoughts and intent of the heart. Lean not to our own understanding, less we waver. Walking by faith is the only way to please God.     Every person of prayer is very unique. Each stream that flows through the spiritual man may flow differently in each of us, but as we look back up stream to the head waters, we see the Savior, and He is the artisan well that never runs dry. Make time to be holy, put on the whole armor of God daily and our princely robes signifying we are the children of God, adopted but joint heirs. These thoughts and deeds give us strength for spiritual warfare in prayer. Let us give our Lord our praise before all things, for our worship strengthens us and weakens our enemy. Unto God be glory for ever and ever.

Prevailing Prayer

Prayer is my life and yet for the life of me, I have no idea when, where or at what time prayer is going to be answered. I feel like I am still in the kindergarten school of prayer and never will graduate. I’ve had prayer answered before it got out of my mouth, and other times it seems like it takes forever.

Prevailing prayer to me is simply to keep praying until I get a witness in my heart by the Holy Ghost. There have been times I’ve been told that my prayer will not be answered and I’m crazy to pray that way. Impossible? No, nothing is impossible, and that is the reason I am writing this. Never give up! Throw the lies back in the devil’s face, and keep praying on and don’t look back. Keep praying until God gives an answer. Some things only happen by fasting and prayer. Keep standing until the answer comes, and you know God has prevailed on your behalf. Any answer God gives, either a yes or a no, give God His praise. Even when a no is given, many times it’s not a total denial, it’s just that the time is not right yet. Hold on to God, trust Him, and see that He always comes right on time.

The Heart

I have to believe all Christians desire to know God, serve Him and pray to Him. All of these innocent desires have a need of one important ingredient, and that is the heart. Who can stand in His holy place? He that has clean hands and a pure heart. It takes a life- time of serving and practice. Is it  worth it? Yes! Have I arrived? No. I’ve spent more than a few hours with the Lord over the years, and I don’t regret one moment we’ve spent together. I know I repeat myself, but one touch, one word from His lips, is worth it all. The sweetness of His presence, I can’t even describe.               All this to say, it’s an issue of the heart. To love, forgive, repent, to have compassion, or to weep with someone is a good starting point to entering the life of prayer with Christ. The secret of the prayer life, is to pray in secret, and God will take care of the outward work. By His signs and wonders, He receives the glory, while we simply walk in His footprints. Be Blessed

Just A Little Walk

He is always there in our usual place, patiently waiting to take our walk together. Walking slowly, I wait to see if He wants to talk or just enjoy the silence. Stay close to Him so you may hear His voice. God is not on any time schedule, just enjoy His presence and let your relationship build on trust. Are you willing to take just a little walk with my Lord? He really enjoys these walks, maybe more then we do. Until our next appointed time, be blessed.

Sweet Release

Two nights ago I stepped into the shower, and like most people, I do my best singing in the shower. I had just finished singing a little phrase to a song and began to pray for people all over the world. “Lord, give me my people and set them free.”

The pure love of God overwhelmed me and the realization hit me so hard, all I could cry out was, “I really do love all these people.” Sometimes we say we love everyone, but when God’s love hits us head on, that, my friends is when it becomes a life changer. It humbled me so greatly, all I could do was weep over my lack of love for these wonderful brothers and sisters of this world.  I told God I was sorry and asked His forgiveness for my lack of love. Since God touched me, there has been a sweet release of God’s love and purpose, and with the help of the Holy Spirit, I believe greater results will come upon you by God’s grace working in and through these prayers. My life won’t be the same and neither will yours, as God works in both our lives. Be blessed and where the Spirit is there is liberty.

The Altar

When I was a small boy, I remember my daddy coming home and telling us that he gave his heart to Jesus. Every day after that, until the day he died, our home knew prayer every night together. When dad or mom  said it was bed time, we would all kneel at the living room couch and pray together. That was my first altar, and  thanks be to Jesus, it has not been my last. What- ever place I’m at, or church I’m in, there is an altar. If there isn’t one, I just bow my head and most of all my heart, and there I make it my altar.

The last several years, I see the altars disappearing from the churches, and that puts a deep sorrow in my heart. Even when there is an altar, not many avail themselves of this wooden treasure. Is there dust upon the altar? I hope not, and the tears that were shed at an old fashion altar, are they missing now? Altars and God- given tears must not pass away, for it is one of the life lines of the church.

One reason the altar is so dear to me, is when I had a vision of the altars filled with a great many souls, kneeling and crying out for salvation. I’ve kept that vision in my eyes and heart, for without a vision the people perish. I live and pray to see that day. Will you also take up the cause of Christ and believe for souls and an awakening of the church? Only believe and we can see the rising up of the church again.

Prayer Alone

I thank God that He made a doorway to heaven that prayers have access to go through. Taking prayer before God is a command, an honor, and a humbling experience. Prayer does not change God, but it changes me. The more I go to God in prayer, the more I desire to be in His presence. Without prayer nothing changes, but with prayer all things are possible. God’s word says, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

His word, when obeyed, is the instrument in our mouth. When it is loosed it opens heaven’s power to do what we can’t, the impossible. All this hinges on “can we?” Will we humble ourselves, seek His face, turn from our wicked ways? Only then will God lean down and listen, forgive our sin and heal our land.

How do we pray? Can we hear the crying, see the hungry, touch the sick? This is a good place to start praying. Can we look at our churches that are half empty, and see some closing their doors, and not have a burning fire in our hearts to cry out. Choose to live at Jesus feet. When our tears touch His feet, His heart will answer our need, but it’s by prayer alone.
