The Heart

I have to believe all Christians desire to know God, serve Him and pray to Him. All of these innocent desires have a need of one important ingredient, and that is the heart. Who can stand in His holy place? He that has clean hands and a pure heart. It takes a life- time of serving and practice. Is it  worth it? Yes! Have I arrived? No. I’ve spent more than a few hours with the Lord over the years, and I don’t regret one moment we’ve spent together. I know I repeat myself, but one touch, one word from His lips, is worth it all. The sweetness of His presence, I can’t even describe.               All this to say, it’s an issue of the heart. To love, forgive, repent, to have compassion, or to weep with someone is a good starting point to entering the life of prayer with Christ. The secret of the prayer life, is to pray in secret, and God will take care of the outward work. By His signs and wonders, He receives the glory, while we simply walk in His footprints. Be Blessed

The Altar

When I was a small boy, I remember my daddy coming home and telling us that he gave his heart to Jesus. Every day after that, until the day he died, our home knew prayer every night together. When dad or mom  said it was bed time, we would all kneel at the living room couch and pray together. That was my first altar, and  thanks be to Jesus, it has not been my last. What- ever place I’m at, or church I’m in, there is an altar. If there isn’t one, I just bow my head and most of all my heart, and there I make it my altar.

The last several years, I see the altars disappearing from the churches, and that puts a deep sorrow in my heart. Even when there is an altar, not many avail themselves of this wooden treasure. Is there dust upon the altar? I hope not, and the tears that were shed at an old fashion altar, are they missing now? Altars and God- given tears must not pass away, for it is one of the life lines of the church.

One reason the altar is so dear to me, is when I had a vision of the altars filled with a great many souls, kneeling and crying out for salvation. I’ve kept that vision in my eyes and heart, for without a vision the people perish. I live and pray to see that day. Will you also take up the cause of Christ and believe for souls and an awakening of the church? Only believe and we can see the rising up of the church again.

Prayer Alone

I thank God that He made a doorway to heaven that prayers have access to go through. Taking prayer before God is a command, an honor, and a humbling experience. Prayer does not change God, but it changes me. The more I go to God in prayer, the more I desire to be in His presence. Without prayer nothing changes, but with prayer all things are possible. God’s word says, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

His word, when obeyed, is the instrument in our mouth. When it is loosed it opens heaven’s power to do what we can’t, the impossible. All this hinges on “can we?” Will we humble ourselves, seek His face, turn from our wicked ways? Only then will God lean down and listen, forgive our sin and heal our land.

How do we pray? Can we hear the crying, see the hungry, touch the sick? This is a good place to start praying. Can we look at our churches that are half empty, and see some closing their doors, and not have a burning fire in our hearts to cry out. Choose to live at Jesus feet. When our tears touch His feet, His heart will answer our need, but it’s by prayer alone.

Satisfied

I will not write about my life before Christ. That is past and a new life has emerged with a full pardon. I received His word from front to the back, accepting His instructions and promises. Christ said everything I’ve done, you can do also, and I say “yes.” He said in Galatians that I can walk in the Spirit day by day, moment by moment, and I say “yes.”

The walk for the last forty-six years, have been the most exciting years up until now. There are greater things to come because the Holy Spirit is my witness, friend and guide. Some say the church is not relevant any more and time has past her by. Forgive them for they have never known Christ. The same said Christ was dead, but on the third day He rose from the grave and after being seen by more then five hundred, He ascended back to His Father.

The church is alive and well and the gates of hell shall not prevail. I was once told I wouldn’t be satisfied anywhere, and I’m not, but I am satisfied walking in the Spirit, in intercession with Him. He is the friend I’ve always wanted and needed. Seek God and be blessed.

Answering the Father

Finishing my shower, I walked into our bedroom and my wife was already in bed. I sat down on the stool to read our daily devotional. While reading, I read a line telling about people being crushed under their afflictions, and suddenly  I was pressed in my spirit. I was so full of tears and sorrow, all I could do was whisper a cry of prayer over these needed souls. After a while I rejoiced in thanking God for allowing me the privilege of giving this prayer. I found a treasure, for under my tears was joy, and I mean great joy, and again it humbled me. The Holy Spirit showed me that when I was starting to pray  He took my hand and we bowed together under His wings, and he said,” Pray my child, for the Lord has need of this prayer.”

This is what God wants all of us to realize, that when we pray in earnest we are not left to our own devices. He is always with us as we make our petitions before Him, and He is the faithful witness. Rejoice my friends that we have a helper and great intercessor as our prayers are taken before the Father. Beloved, do not give up seeking God. Pray always with all prayers and believe, because it takes a prayer to make an answer.

What’s In Your Mouth

Moses had a rod, David had a sling. Today people don’t carry a rod or a sling. What we have today, because of what Christ did on Calvary, is the Holy Spirit. I believe God gave us Moses, David and the prophets as examples of how to move and act in the kingdom of God. Now His question may well be, “What is in your mouth?” Will you use it by faith and declare the word of God?                           In the physical world and the spiritual, an effect has been accomplished since the beginning of time. It’s called action and reaction. When we speak or pray, God listens. When we move, God moves. This is a natural cause and effect that He put in place in the beginning. God desires for us to walk by faith and speak the word by the unction and anointing of the Spirit. God, for some reason, will not move unless someone prays.                          God is still trying to find people who will believe and pray, and are willing to open their mouth and speak to God for the people. When we give God our need, He will cause an effect to happen. Sometimes He may answer our prayer in a different way than we expected, or in our time, but He will answer.                                    So, where’s your mouth, more importantly, where is your heart? You will find the answer in the choice you make. Beloved, somewhere inside of you may be a Moses or a David. Love you all.

The Voice

The really first time I heard His voice was when I was visiting another church. Sitting toward the back, I heard the “sermon on the mount,” and as the minister was leaving the stage, the Holy Spirit said to me, this may be your last chance. I leaped out of the pew and made my way to the altar, and gave my life to Christ.

Only one time was His voice loud, and that was while I was singing praises to my God, and He said, “You will have another child.” Immediately after work I told my wife what the Lord had said. After two miscarriages, that word was a God-send, and we did have another child. She was our third and last. I have heard His voice many times, but remember my friends, this is over a forty seven year period.  I don’t believe He gives us a word every few seconds. I’m saying this because I don’t want people going crazy thinking they can hear voices all the time.

He can speak to each person in the way their hearing understands, because we all listen differently. Just make sure it lines up with the word of God. His voice is like no other to me. It’s quiet and so soft that it’s almost a whisper. He can brush across the heart so lightly, yet it might feel like a jolt. The sound of love is in His voice. It brings  calm and yet a confidence that I hear. We know His voice can speak healing to His child, and yet those that war against Him know His wrath. His voice is so wonderful that when you hear it you want to draw even closer to Him to hear it again.

He says try me, test me, know me by my word, and know that I am the living God, and that there is no other. Be Blessed and Remain a Blessing
